  3. Good morning, my dearest defender against the vampire-ladies of the nightfall. Even though I understand that you are aiming your narrative to a young crowd that is mostly non-religious and oftentimes apolitical, I have to make a point. Christmas is not a celebration of unbridled consumerism, which has its positive aspects of course, but of the supposed birth of who represents the savior and prophet for believing Christians like myself, Jesus Christ. There are many nice religious items for many faiths , including edited Bibles for children. If we show our offspring just the commercial side of it, we will deprive them of building up a strong spiritual texture in their personalities. Un baccione, Arrivederci.

      1. Dear Geo, I understand your point of view too. However, I must point out that I have sadly witnessed the tremendous social dislocation and despair that unbridled consumerism has brought to the common citizenry of Europe, i.e. the prosperous countries of the EU. Without a major purpose and a higher mission in life, call it religion or artistic endeavor or political affiliation or civic participation, life loses its true meaning. How about reviewing some of the nice stuff some environmental groups have for sale, which not only brings a nice item to your home but also contributes substantially to save our planet? You’re still lucky in Romania that you are not fully integrated into the „paradise of the EU” (as you can guess, as an Italian citizen, I have voted for the anti-EU political parties like the Movimento Cinque Stelle). Un altro baccione. Ciao!
